School Closure

December 6, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians

As you may have heard, due to the significant nature of Storm Barra, as forecast by Met Éireann, the Department of Education has advised that all schools covered by the Red Alert and Orange warning from Met Éireann should not open tomorrow, 7th December. Dublin is included in the Orange warning. Accordingly, the school building will be closed tomorrow.

Tomorrow teachers will make arrangements to provide tuition/assign work online for their classes. For those teachers who will be in a position to provide online classes, priority will be given to 6th years and 3rd years and classes will be no more than 45 minutes in duration (based on feedback from last year). For those teachers not in a position to provide online classes, they will assign practical work/exercises that will aid revision for the Christmas exams. Arrangements will be communicated through Google Classroom tomorrow.

Of course we have to accept that there may be power outages, Wi-Fi disruption etc. but as always, all we can do is our best.

Most important of all, may you and your families stay safe and well.

Kind regards

John McHugh
