Well done to our U17 B Footballers who had a good win yesterday against Marist College with a scoreline of 7-16 to 1-7.
Ard scoil started the game off well scoring several points without reply. We were ten points up when Marist College scored their first point of the game. Our speed and passing could not be matched by the Marist players as we ran rampant during the first fifteen minutes of the first half.During the middle of the first half Ard Scoil defended well with players like Aidan (The Tank) Tancred, Rory (The Berserker) Burke and Lee (The Machine) O Connor making sure that no goals were going to be scored while they were on the pitch. Things slowed down a little bit after with a bit of a dull patch towards the end of the half with neither team scoring that much during this period. After the scoring drought David (The Captain) O Connell helped push his team onward with encouraging play which allowed us to score a few more points before the end of the first half. The score at the end of the first half was 1-11 to 0-3 in favour of Ard Scoil.
The second half of the game wasn’t much different from the first with Ard Scoil continuing to dominate throughout the game. Even with some of our best players on the bench we continued to dominate throughout the remainder of the game. The best moment of the half was when Dylan (The Fantastic) Farrell scored a great point from the corner of the pitch. Overall, it was a great team performance from the lads. The final score was 7-16 to 1-7
My man of the match award goes to Peter (The Majestic) Maloney who got more than a handful of scores throughout the whole game and helped provide others with opportunities to put the ball over the bar and into the net.
We wish the lads the best of luck in their next game.
