U16 Badminton through to Leinster Championships – Pics

Huge congratulations to the U16 Badminton Team who won the Dublin Division 1 Badminton Finals on Thursday, 2nd of February, against Castleknock.

Paul “The Falcon” Foley captained. He started the day off strong, beating his opponent 30-9 , paving the way for his teammates. Next up was Noble “The Annihilator” George also winning his game 30-9, his experience in previous finals showed as he took on his opponent.

Carl “The Crusher” Pamplona was anxious to hit the court and put Ardscoil in a prime position to take the trophy home.

To seal the deal was Gavin “The Guns” Dooley winning a hard fought game, allowing Ardscoil to claim the title.

Michael “The Rocket” Bannon unfortunately didn’t get to showcase his skills today, yet he played a key part in the teams previous games to put them in this position.

A huge thanks to the team’s mentor Mr McGowne who put a lot of time into the team this year organising fixtures and training. His skills as a coach ( despite being too modest) allowed for Ardscoil Rís to take the title home.

We hope to see as much success in the Leinsters.
