GAA

Here at Ardscoil Rís we are immensely proud of our tradition in Gaelic games. Not only does it signify the strong cultural links to our Irish heritage but it also fosters a strong sense of values in our students. These include a sense of community, loyalty, hard work and wellbeing.

Over the last few years, a large number of highly talented players have graced the hallways of Ardscoil and gone on to represent their county at the highest level. We are immensely proud of this tradition and intend to keep this going by encouraging students to enjoy their GAA while having high standards. However, it is the memories and relationships that come from our students, of all abilities, playing alongside each other is what makes GAA in Ardscoil so successful.

Badminton

In recent times, Ardscoil Rís has built a strong tradition of Badminton in the school. The boys gain a sense of community within the school by fostering friendships through participation in weekly sessions. Students can access training twice a week with a professional coach. The skills honed in training have led to success in the Leinster Schools Championship in recent years. We currently have an U14, U16 & U18 teams. Students are encouraged to try a range of extra-curricular activities within school. The badminton team is open to students of all abilities and serves to encourage socialization and fitness in an enjoyable environment.

Basketball

Ardscoil Rís has developed a strong tradition in basketball, participating at the highest level in Dublin leagues. Our school holds many Leinster championships as well as All-Ireland finals across all age groups over the past few years. With so many clubs in the locale, we always have competitive teams. We enter teams at all ages (1st year, 2nd year, u16s & u19s) and encourage students from all abilities to have a go at basketball. Again, the teamwork and camaraderie that students develop while playing, serves them well later in life.
