A ceremony marking the naming of the pitch took place in Ardscoil Rís today to honour a much loved and respected teacher Gerry O’Brien.
Dedicating the pitch to Gerry was universally applauded and appreciated by all who knew him. Deeply passionate about his home of Dolla, Co. Tipperary, his faith, St, Vincent’s and his beloved Ardscoil Rís he saw the good in everyone. Anyone who encountered Gerry came away enriched by the experience.
We are proud today that we can dedicate our pitch to such a man as Gerry O’Brien. Guest of honour at our ceremony today was Gerry’s niece Josephine Curtin. We were also delighted to have had a very close friend of Gerry, Liam Moggan, to say a few words to the students about Gerry.
