Welcome to the Ard Scoil Rís website. I hope that your visit here will give you a flavour of our school which has offered, and continues to offer, an excellent and holistic education to young men since our foundation in 1972.As an Edmund Rice school we strive to provide excellence in education inspired by the vision of Blessed Edmund Rice. Our school is a caring, student centred community where students are nurtured and challenged to achieve their very best in all areas of life. We aim to provide our students with a positive learning environment so that they can develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge necessary for their full and active participation in society.

In Ard Scoil Rís we encourage academic excellence and immersion in school life. Our school has a proud tradition of success in extra-curricular activities. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities that provide students with an opportunity to grow and develop their skills outside the classroom.

Partnership is a key feature of our community and we strongly encourage the active participation of parents in the life of our school. Our Parents’ Council contributes enormously to the life of our school in a vibrant and dynamic way. Our Student Council have an active voice in our school and contribute to our school community in a real and meaningful way. The relationship between parents, teachers and students is characterised by mutual respect and support, which contributes hugely to the ongoing success of our school.

Ard Scoil Rís is a community which surrounds our students with friendship, positivity and an infectious desire to succeed. All this is provided in a caring and supportive environment which allows our boys to flourish into considerate, empathetic and resilient young men.

I am enormously privileged to serve as Principal of Ard Scoil Rís and to build on the tremendous traditions of our school. I am in the fortunate position of leading an extremely talented staff that is filled with highly qualified and enthusiastic teachers who give their very best for the students of our school.
